Default News and Notes from 2010 Upper Deck Summit Meeting

First off, I'd like to thank Upper Deck for inviting Atlanta Sports Cards to the Summit this year. Also, thank you to everyone for your patience during our absence. There was a lot of useful and interesting information gathered during this meeting. 2010 should be an exciting year from Upper Deck. They are really determined to truly focusing on the hobby this year. They want to make the new products more collector friendly than ever. With an exclusive Collegiate License, Upper Deck has a handful of very unique college products coming out. This includes 2010 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Football which will feature all college helmet autographs. With it being a strong year for Rookies from schools like Florida, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and USC, this should be a very cool set. Their upcoming baseball products should be exciting as well. I assure you that set collectors will have a lot to look forward to. There are several new and exciting baseball products like Signature Stars. This is a product that features Bryce Harper autographs and has a ton of cool stuff in it. It should be releasing very soon and has 4 autograph or memorabilia cards in every box. In addition to specific product information, issues and problems were discussed. There was talk about the benefits of on-card autographs. This is an area where Upper Deck has really taken the lead. In 2010, more products will feature on-card autographs than not. They also addressed the issue of product release dates not being met. They assured us that this was something they were focusing on and making an effort to correct. All-in-all, Upper Deck gave us hope for the upcoming year. Sure, every product won't be great and every issue won't be resolved. However, they are making strides and efforts to help everyone within the industry. Hopefully, we will really see some changes going forward.
